An hour-long yoga class on a chair to improve flexibility, concentration, and strength, while boosting mood and reducing stress and joint strain.
It's ideal for beginners, office workers, students, senior citizens, those with limited mobility. It's a treat for anyone who wants to be introduced to levels of physical activity via accessible, gentle, and yummy poses.

For an hour, you will be led through series of poses that allow you to sync your breathing with your movements.
At the end of the class, you will be more aware of your body and mind, have flowed with mindfulness and gratitude, and have discovered how to use your breath to calm you down.

CHAIR YOGA (1 hour)
Participants go through series of poses that counter the many hours spent sitting. They do gentle stretches and strengtheners that hit tightness in the shoulders, lower back, hip and hamstring areas.
BREATHING AND MINDFULNESS PRACTICE (30 minutes)
Participants learn the basics of using the breath to energize, calm, or balance the mind.
CHAIR YOGA DANCE (30 minutes)
Participants dance to gentle beats, allowing them to end the program feeling more energized and motivated.

4-HR LEARNER PROGRAM
Ideal for groups that want to provide participants with more tools to handle and manage stress. They are led through a series of activities that will allow them to be more aware of their body and mind without judgement.
The first session is chair-based where they will move their bodies to the rhythm of their breath. This will prepare them for the mindfulness practice where they can turn inward and use their breath to train their mind to be more relaxed or energized. These new learnings will then be practiced on the mat, in a full-fledged but beginner-friendly yoga practice.

CHAIR YOGA (1-hour)

VINYASA + RESTORATIVE YOGA
(1.5 hours)
On a yoga mat, participants will flow thru poses that target deep muscles while being anchored to the rhythm of their breath. In the last segment, tey will be guided thru poses they will hold for 3 to 5 minutes each, triggering the "rest and digest" response by slowing the body down to allow it to calm down, heal and recover.

LALA RIMANDO is a storyteller, a yoga teacher, and a journalist. Trained by YogaWorks and Accessible Yoga, she leads private classes for CEOs and 3-year-olds, the flexible and the not, the willing and the curious. Her classes incorporate styles of Vinyasa, Iyengar, and Ashtanga that fit the physical and mental needs of her students. She always reminds students that they can hold the pose but not their breath.
